Creating and publishing a post
Creating and publishing a post
Posts are created from Dashboard → Posts → New. What you write is not published straight away: when visibility is set to Public, the text passes through an AI review first.
Five types of post
The type decides which fields you can fill in and how the post appears in listings. You can change it later, but headings behave differently once you move away from Blog, so it is worth deciding at the start.
| Type | Use it for | Main fields |
|---|---|---|
| Photo | Showing your work or your workplace | Image, short caption |
| Blog | Writing at length about a method or an idea | Headings, body, tags |
| Update | Short news, opening hours, availability | Body only |
| Work | Collecting past jobs into a portfolio | Image, body, category |
| Wanted | Looking for people or projects | Body, requirements |
Who can see it
- 01PublicVisible to people who are not logged in, and indexed by search engines.
- 02Members onlyVisible only to people logged in to the service.
- 03Only meA place to keep drafts. Nobody else can see it.
Visibility can be changed after publishing. If you are unsure, save as Only me first and move it to Public once the content has settled.
When the AI review stops you
Publishing as Public sends the body through a review. It usually stops for one of these reasons:
- Contact details are written directly in the body (phone number, email address, an account name on another platform)
- The post contains images or text whose origin is unclear
- The post makes definite claims about results or earnings
You can rewrite whatever was flagged. There is no need to lower the visibility to get around a flag. Fix the wording, run the review again, and the post publishes normally.
Adding photos
If an image will not attach, check these in order:
- The file is JPEG or PNG
- The file is not unusually large (photos straight from a phone are often 3–8 MB each)
- The upload finished before you left the screen
After publishing
Publishing creates a URL unique to that post. The URL includes the handle from your profile, so changing your handle moves old URLs to new ones. If you have already shared a link somewhere, check those places before you change it.
Deleting a post also deletes its comments and likes, and cannot be undone. If you are hesitating, set the visibility to Only me instead.

Did this page help?
Your answer tells us which pages need rewriting.
- The post type (photo, blog, update, work, or wanted)
- The visibility you selected
- The message shown on screen, word for word
